Background

Design has always been an active part of my life – it's my passion. Educated with a fine art painting degree I quickly realized that I need to provide a better income to support my family – the starving artist life style didn't last too long. I do continue to paint and create sculptures from time to time.

After college, I worked for Gateway Printing where I was a lead pressman and worked in the dark room. I printed a ton of Black & Decker and Dewalt tool packaging materials. A friend got me an interview as a designer at CCH Inc. in 1997 where I designed newsletters, journals, and books. While designing print materials, the web was booming and I shifted to the designing web sites for CCH and freelancing on the side. I still work for CCH today as a Product Design Consultant where I focus on improving the usability for the many CCH web based applications.
