Media Mullen is a small, progressive interactive identity design studio that specializes in identity design, icon design, web design, and user-interface design.
This January 2006, I joined a work & witness team with my church to travel down to Bayou Le Batre, AL to help rebuild homes damaged by hurricane Katrina last year. It has been 6 months since the storm and I was shocked to see how much work is still needed. It was a great experience! Not only did I help rebuild homes, I got to meet some great people and learn more about the south. I encourage you to get out of your own yard and to experience the cultures around you. You can view photos from the trip here.
Check out this band downshift. The bands new singer Casey Lee Mullen from Chicago suburbs recently joined the California band. They are currently working in the recording studio. I can't wait to hear the new album!
Along the lines of Seinfelds monologue where he discusses the diminishing level of "hello's" throughout the day in the workplace... There are a couple of guys in my office who, whenever I run into them, in the bathroom, the water-cooler, the hallway, they always tell me where I am! I'll run into them, and they'll say, "There he is..." with a certain excitement that they have finally found me! It's like when you find something insignificant at home after forgetting about it for a couple of months and you say, "There that thing is I forgot about that thing..." Not that they have been looking for me, literally, and are excited to have stumbled upon my presence... I know they really mean hello, what's up, or, the one I like to use, Hey there, but they instead feel as though they need to communicate that they've made a discovery. I wonder if, when one of them finds me, and then the other one finds me right afterwards, if they argue as to who found me first? Or even better, do they find each other? The number of people who are found on any given day between the two of them is 15-20, easy.
Learning new methods of implementing interfaces is an endless adventure. That's when this web site becomes my playground to experiment with new CSS design techniques. The old design was suitable for starters but as I've started developing more content, I needed to do some house cleaning.
I tried adding more color and improve the CSS implementation. The old design was too gray and lacked the level of quality I desired. I hope you enjoy the new site design.
MediaMullen partnered with I.T. Computer Solutions to create a web site that tells the story of a families struggle with mold in their Florida home. They have suffered unhealthy living conditions caused by poor construction. My heart goes out to these people.
MediaMullen released the redesigned the Mundelein Church of the Nazarene. In addition, we worked with the pastor to redesign the church logo to update the church's communication materials. The tree in the logo represents the very old oak tree that sits on the property.

The first meeting of the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers this 2004 season resulted in a win for the Bears -- finally! To make the game interesting, my brother in-law bet my sister that if the Bears won, he would put on a dress and mow the lawn. Hmmm... not really an attractive woman but it was a good laugh!!! Notice the little Packer dude hanging from the garage.
Well, too bad the second game of the year turned into an embarrassing Bears lose (31 Packer / 14 Bears). Better luck next year Bears. Now get this, in fear of the Packer losing again, my brother in-law did not make a bet so that he could insure that he wouldn't be wearing a dress again. Ha! Even when the bears lose, someone wins.
MediaMullen is dedicated to providing quality design that meets the customer’s expectations. One technique used to separate presentation from content is the use of CSS. No more classic html designs that interweaves your fonts, colors, graphics, and many tables. CSS, when used to it full capacity, allows designers to extend their creative talents beyond the traditional html mark-up.
